Dr. Al Hajeen holds a BSc in Medicine from Ain Al Shams, and was a specialist in eye surgery and ophthalmology at the Moroccan Eye Center in Jeddah from 1992 to 2017. He also worked as an instructor in eye diseases, physiology and anatomy at the Saudi Center for Healthcare Services between 2008 and 2012. He is also a member of the Saudi Ophthalmological Society.
